The Covid-19 outbreak has made 2020 a difficult year for many around the world. We hope all of our families are healthy and safe. See below for information about TLL's 2020 season.Spring 2020 Season
Shortly after selecting teams and beginning practices in March, the Covid-19 outbreak forced us to suspend activities through the spring. Due to the restrictions that remained in place as of May 18, TLL decided it was necessary to cancel the spring 2020 season. At that time, work began to plan for our return to play and an enhanced fall season of baseball. Spring Refunds and Credits
On May 18, TLL communicated to all parents about options for refunds or credits of the amounts paid for spring registration. By late June, all requested refunds have been processed by either check or refund to credit cards. Any remaining amounts were converted to credits that can be used to pay for future seasons at TLL. If you have any questions about your specific refund or credit, please contact us at [email protected]Return to Play Plan
The TLL Board of Directors followed guidance from MD District 2 Little League, state and local government orders, as well as models from other youth sports organizations to develop the TLL Return to Play Plan. This plan was approved by MD District 2 and East Region Little League, then was communicated to our families on June 23. The plan is posted on the league website tllbaseball.com. All participants (players, volunteers, and spectators) are expected to follow the precautions listed in the plan. Summer Activities
TLL is offering weekly sandlot style games to give players a chance to play baseball as we approach the fall season. Details will be sent to families by email and Facebook posts.
Fall 2020 Season
TLL will be holding a competitive baseball season during the late summer and fall. This season will have characteristics of a typical spring season. Timeline
Registration will open July 6 and close on July 24.
Teams will be selected and parents contacted by coaches on/about July 26.
Teams will begin practicing during the week of July 27.
Games will begin on/about August 8 and end in late October. Divisions
Tee Ball, Instructional (Coach Pitch), Minor, Major, and Intermediate 50/70 levels will be offered. League Ages
Players' league ages from Spring 2020 will be used. League age 12 year olds are welcome to return this fall to play their final Major season. "Playing Up"
Unlike a typical fall season when we encourage players to "play up" to the level they intend to play the following spring, this fall we recommend that players register for the division they were going to play during our cancelled spring 2020 season, especially at the major and minor divisions. The fall 2020 season will be more competitive than usual, and there may be limited roster availability for players to "play up." Anyone seeking to move up is still encouraged to try out for the next level in spring 2021. Other Season Info
*We will be using typical spring (MLB) team uniforms.
*Rules will be like those used in spring. Major and Minor divisions will keep score, and will play competitively, with possible playoffs or tournament play in October. The Major division teams may also participate in a tournament during the Labor Day weekend.
*Team schedules at all levels may include interleague games at other nearby leagues. When visiting another league's facility, players, coaches, and spectators are required to follow any precautions in place at that location.
*Traditional spring events such as the Hit-a-Thon, Minor Playoffs, and Major Tournament of Champions may take place during the fall season.
